Click "Browse" and select the files you want to upload. Be sure to adhere to IBM's Social Computing Guidelines when uploading content. Once the files have been uploaded, add tags so users can find your content. Select a Creative Commons license if you wish. 3. Share your expertise Use your other social channels to inform your social network about the files you have posted to SlideShare.

If you link to an existing SlideShare.net account on LinkedIn, any presentations uploaded on SlideShare will be available on LinkedIn. Any presentations you have marked as private on SlideShare.net will not be visible on your LinkedIn account.
SlideShare features SlideShare lets anyone share presentations and video, and also serves as a social discovery platform for users to find relevant content and connect with other members who share similar interests. When you publish a presentation on SlideShare, the SlideShare URL can be shared, the presentation can be published on LinkedIn, or the presentation can be embedded into your website or blog.

Networks on SlideShare are a way for businesses to curate content from all of their employees and partners on one branded page. For example, IBM's Expert Network on SlideShare showcases IBM employees and experts as well as content that is curated from each expert's profile.

Network accounts balance the needs of the company and the individual employee. Employees can post content to their own accounts, and the company can aggregate that content on its SlideShare Network.

Additional benefits of using SlideShare include researching information, connecting with others, sharing ideas, generating leads for your business, and increasing your position in search rankings.
Groups and events SlideShare can also be used to create, or participate in Groups and Events. Groups and events To create an Event: To create a Group: Basic presentation stats (views, embeds, favorites, and comments) are available for each of the files you upload to SlideShare. SlideShare search You can search and browse presentations shared by others, and you can embed your presentations outside of SlideShare, for instance on your Wordpress blog or website. To embed a presentation, you need a piece of HTML code that's called an embed code. Each SlideShare presentation has this code available as long as the presentation is public. SlideShare search Confidentiality and policy IBM regards blogs and other forms of online discourse as primarily a form of communication and relationship among individuals. When the company wishes to communicate publicly as a company–whether to the marketplace or to the general public—it has well established means to do so. Only those officially designated by IBM have the authorization to speak on behalf of the company.

However, IBM believes in dialogue among IBMers and with our partners, clients, members of the many communities in which we participate, and the general public. Such dialogue is inherent in our business model of innovation, and in our commitment to the development of open standards. We believe that IBMers can both derive and provide important benefits from exchanges of perspective.
