The main OAB symptoms include:
-
Urgency: Having a strong need to go to the bathroom right away
-
Frequency: Having to go to the bathroom 8 or more times a day, also called "urinary frequency"
-
Leakage: Leaking or wetting accidents, also called "urinary incontinence"
Even though OAB may affect over 1 in 6 American adults (that's 33 million people), many people don't realize that OAB is a treatable condition. Some think it's just a sign of getting older, however adults of any age can have OAB symptoms, and they can be treated.
So if you're experiencing any of the symptoms above, make an appointment to speak with your healthcare provider. If you'd like some tips for preparing for that discussion, check out the Doctor Conversation Guide.
