Centennial Social Programs: Unified Profile
The Unified Profile service will allow you to participate in IBM digital experiences both "behind the firewall" and on the IBM100 site. It also allows you to share your thoughts and network with other IBMers in new and engaging ways.
Why unify?
Besides accessing all of the features and functionality on the IBM100 site, your Unified Profile offers a number of benefits:
Build value as an IBMer As an IBMer, you represent the company in your interactions with clients and in communities – and this includes sharing your thoughts and expertise on the social web. Become more efficient IBM is moving toward using Unified Profiles exclusively as the standard means of identifying employees. By the end of 2011, IBMers will use only this system to access the applications they use for IBM.
Stay organized and productive The new Unified Profile service makes it easier for you to organize and update your personal profiles by connecting them. Over time, Unified Profiles will reduce the total number of times IDs and passwords are requested by IBM applications, making it easier for all IBMers to be more productive at work. Protect your privacy The technology behind Unified Profiles addresses important security and privacy concerns, ensuring your personal information is protected now and in the future.
Activating your Unified Profile
In order to activate your Unified Profile, you’ll need these four items:
  1. 1. Your public-facing Web Identity (an ibm.com ID)
  2. 2. Your Intranet Identity password (your w3 ID)
  3. 3. Your Lotus Connections external profile
  4. 4. The Central Sign-On Service (to connect everything)
You may have one or several of the first three already. To get started, select the option that best applies to you. I have an ibm.com Web Identity but need an Intranet Identity password. Get an Intranet Identity password I have an Intranet Identity Password but need an IBM Web Identity. Get an IBM Web Identity I have an Intranet Identity Password and a Web Identity but need Lotus Connections external profile. Create a Lotus Connections external profile I have all three, I just need to connect them. Go to Central Sign-On I'm not sure what I have. Go to IT Help Central Once you have completed all the steps, open a new browser window and visit the IBM100 site while signed in to enjoy the full benefits that the site offers to IBMers.

The IBM Expert Locator is a new web-based service designed to aid in the search and discovery of IBM experts for interactions ranging from internal collaboration to external engagement with clients, prospects and partners. Our goal for this service is bring to the surface the right experts for the right engagement at the right time, across all possible venues where purposeful interaction can take place.

The enrollment process takes just a few minutes: Define your areas of expertise, choose the types of activities you wish to perform and indicate how others may engage with you.

The Expert Locator is one of the cornerstones of social business at IBM. Facilitating high-value interactions among IBMers and external constituents will help drive our business forward while building the social eminence of the individual IBMers involved.
